Nanotechnology is highly interdisciplinary, involving physics, chemistry, biology, materials science and the full range of engineering disciplines. By studying substances on atomic scales and developing the capability to manipulate them, new materials and systems can be created with specific, unique properties.
The potential impact of nanotechnology is expected to be far reaching, touching nearly every aspect of our lives. By 2020, the industry is expected to reach US$ 75.8 billion globally whilst the annual worldwide market for products incorporating Nanotechnology is expected to reach US$ 3.3 trillion.
The 4-year B.Tech. Nanotechnology programme at Amity University Dubai gives students a sound understanding of the applications of Nanotechnology & Nanoscience in a wide range of areas including basic sciences, engineering, healthcare, the electronics industry, pharmaceuticals, research and agriculture.
Students are required to take a certain number of credit units from each of the categories.
The B.Tech (Nanotechnology) programme spans across eight semesters and focuses on:
Basic technological knowledge of nano materials and devices
Application of Nanotechnology & Nanoscience in a wide range of areas including basic sciences, engineering, healthcare, electronics industry, pharmaceuticals, research and agriculture.
Prepare student for the development of innovative technologies for above areas in societal benefits.
Inculcate moral value, professional ethics and business communication skills in the students
