The Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Technology online degree is designed for those interested in the hands-on side of the manufacturing field. This program is also an excellent fit if you have completed a two-year program in industrial technology, manufacturing technology, basic design technology, CNC machining, robotics or other relevant areas of manufacturing.

You also have an option to earn graduate credit toward a Master of Science in Engineering Management while working on this bachelor's degree. Through this combined degree program, you can finish both degrees in just four years and save up to $8,625!

The Experience

As a student in this online Manufacturing Technology program, you can choose one of three concentration options: management, information systems or manufacturing specialist (you can transfer 12 industry related credits into the manufacturing specialty concentration). You will get the unique experience of hands-on learning in an online environment. For example, in one course you will receive a kit of measurement instruments and lab instructions to learn metrology skills.

Through your coursework in this program, you will learn to be a productive member of a manufacturing team, focusing on manufacturing processes, basic CAD drawing, information systems technology, environmental health and safety and business management practices. In your final course, you will complete a capstone project where you can apply your skills to solve a real-world problem.

The Results

As a graduate of the Trine University B.S. in Manufacturing program, you will be able to provide support and technical assistance throughout the manufacturing and design process. By applying the leadership and management skills you gain in this major, you will be able to assume leadership roles to move the manufacturing team forward. This degree also prepares you for more advanced educational opportunities such as the Master of Science in Engineering Management.
