1 Years On Campus Undergraduate Pathway Programme

Leads to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree.
Preparing students for direct entry to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree in Humanities, Law and Social Science-related subjects at the University of Exeter.

On campus and online study options

  • This program is available to study either on campus or online – giving students the flexibility to choose what’s best for them.
  • If your student starts online and is then able to travel to the UK, they’ll be able to transfer to an on-campus program in January or March/April 2022. They’ll need to meet any visa requirements and demonstrate good attendance and performance during their studies online.
  • If your student applies for an Online Extended program, they’ll be offered an Online Academic English plus Online or on-campus academic pathway study plan. 

Key information

  • Learn through discipline-specific teaching, including research projects, essays, case studies, presentations and seminars.
  • Film students will analyse film techniques and the film industry, and visit the University’s film museum.
  • Law students will take part in mini-trials, allowing them to present cases like professional lawyers.
  • Politics and International Relations students will analyse causes and resolutions of different world conflicts.

  • Completion of 12 years of schooling (or the local equivalent to meet the same standard) with good grades.

English language entry requirements

  • 3 Terms: IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 in Writing and Reading and 4.5 in all other subskills) or equivalent. IELTS 6.0 minimum overall with minimum of 6.0 in all subskills for students aiming to progress to Nursing, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. IELTS 6.0 minimum overall with minimum of 5.5 in all subskills for students aiming to progress to Pharmacy. IELTS 6.5 minimum overall with minimum of 6.5 in all subskills for students aiming to progress to Speech and Language Therapy.

  • 4 Terms: IELTS 4.5 overall (with a minimum of 4.5 in Writing and Reading and no less than 4.0 in other subskills) or equivalent. IELTS 5.5 minimum overall with minimum of 5.5 in all subskills for students aiming to progress to Nursing, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. IELTS 5.5 minimum overall with minimum of 5.0 in all subskills for students aiming to progress to Pharmacy. IELTS 6.0 minimum overall with minimum of 6.0 in all subskills for students aiming to progress to Speech and Language Therapy.
  • A total of 120 credits must be earnt to successfully complete the pathway programme.
