Math majors participate in department seminars and do independent study and honours research projects with faculty members. The department employs its students as tutors in the Math Centre and for summer research projects.
  • Our majors participate in seminars and do independent study and honors research projects with faculty members. There are scholarships specifically designated for mathematics majors. The department also employs students as tutors in the Math Centre and for summer research projects. Annual events include the prestigious International Putnam Exam, and the regional finals of the BC Secondary School Math Contest hosted by our faculty and students.

If you don’t meet the requirements

  • High school graduates can apply and be admitted to this program while upgrading at TRU.
  • Mature students without a high school diploma (or equivalent) can work towards completing their BC High School Graduation Diploma while in this program through TRU courses.
  • Students who do not qualify for mature student status can apply for the TRU University Preparation program to complete their BC High School Graduation Diploma.
