- Students develop the skills needed to assist people of all ages with personal and consumer choices for individual and family well-being.
- All students in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences complete an internship or student teach prior to graduation.
- Students can choose from one- to two-semester Pathway programs.
- Students are fully admitted to Illinois State provided successful completion of conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway and submission of all required admission credentials.
- A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university.
- Students will benefit from fully integrated classes with both domestic and other international students on campus while learning from highly trained university instructors and tutors.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2.5 GPA out of 4.0. Students without background coursework in human development may have to complete up to 3 pre-requisites as part of their Pathway. Students without a background in human development, psychology or sociology may apply and will take the required prerequisites during the Pathway.

- 2 Semesters: TOEFL 65, IELTS 5.5, PTEA 44, IELA 169, Password 6, Completion of Academic English Level 4, or Duolingo 95.
