International Year One allows students to begin earning credits toward their degree even if they don’t meet the academic and English requirements for direct entry.
International Year One in Food Science and Technology will prepare students to enter their next term of a bachelor’s degree program at Oregon State University.
  • OSU's Arbutnut Dairy Center consists of a classroom, dairy technology lab and a licensed commercial dairy pilot plan, so student can learn technical skills during their studies
  • The Seafood and Research Center has a longstanding reputation as one of the nation's premier seafood research labs. providing critical research and innovative product development.
  • OSU's Pilot Processing Plant gives students a first look at food processing in a(n) FDA and ODA registered facility.
  • Students can choose from three- to four-term Pathway programs.
  • Students are fully admitted to OSU provided successful completion of conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway and submission of all required admission credentials.
  • A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university.
  • Students are guaranteed progression to an undergraduate degree program through a curriculum consisting of credit-earning courses.
  • Students will benefit from fully integrated classes with both domestic and other international students on campus while learning from highly trained university instructors and tutors.

  • During the fourth term students will complete the additional classes to ensure that they are well prepared for their second year at OSU. It is recommended that all students, especially those in sciences and engineering, plan to study for four consecutive terms
