Come develop your creativity in our drama program where you’ll get the training for a career in the theatre. Choose a concentration in performance, history and theory, design/technical theatre, or a combination of two or all three. First-year students get hands-on training behind the scenes. Students love this program so much, many go on to graduate school for further learning and specialization

  • Sample Courses: Introduction to Theatre and Performance Studies, Introductory Acting, Drawing for the Theatre, Rendering for the Theatre, Stage Management, Directing, Improvisation and Self-Development
  • Career Tracks: Artistic producer; theatre performer; stage manager; costume, set, or lighting designer; theatre for social action practitioner

  • Course Requirements: English/ENG4U
  • Minimum Average: 70%
  • Mean Average (Entering Fall 2019): 83%

This Course is Available in Honours 4 Year Programs and Combined Honours programs available


a) Dramatic Art: sixteen courses including DRAM-1000 and DRAM-2000, as recommended by a Dramatic Art program advisor including at least one at the 3000 level or above.


(b) Course Requirements - Other Subject: courses used to calculate the major average in the other subject area, as prescribed by that area of study.


(c) GART-1500, GART-1510;

(d) two courses from Social Sciences;


(e) two courses from Languages or Science;


(f) two courses from any area of study, excluding Arts.


(g) additional courses from any area of study to a total of forty courses.


Courses used to calculate the major average are: courses listed under requirements (a) and (b), and any courses taken in the major area(s) of study.
