Course Overview

Near East University, Department of Automotive Engineering was established in 2013. The undergraduate program started in the 2013-2014 Fall Semester. The language of instruction is both Turkish and English. The aim of the department is to provide a strong background in the theories and practices of Automotive Engineering and to graduate engineers with up-to-date knowledge and information about science and engineering. Undergraduate students study a wide range of topics such as Automotive engineering principles, Automotive design, Automotive design and architecture, programming languages, communication, database management systems, data structure and algorithms, artificial intelligence. Students are also exposed to a wide range of computer engineering and information systems engineering courses. Our students are given the knowledge and skills needed for high-quality engineering studies and are prepared for diverse and competitive career paths by developing talents and skills with a wide intellectual range.

4 years (except for 1 year in the English Program English Preparatory School), 2 semesters per year, 16 weeks each semester.

As an education method; lectures, class discussion and individual projects are implemented by faculty members. The curriculum is planned with a multidisciplinary approach. In the 1st year, students take basic engineering and programming courses. In the 2nd year, programming, system and management courses are taken and in the 3rd year, information systems and Automotive courses are taken. The 4th year is the duration of elective courses. In this semester, students are given the opportunity to choose courses according to their academic interests, as well as compulsory courses and engineering design courses.
