Studied full-time on campus over four years, the Discover program allows you to explore academic programs and declare your major as late as your second year. You will engage with a sample curriculum that includes mathematics, humanities, social sciences, and introductory professional courses, with specific requirements for selective majors like engineering and computing. You will graduate with a clear direction for your chosen major, prepared to continue your studies with the foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary for success in your selected field at Illinois Tech.

Program Overview

This course sequence introduces students to foundational academic subjects and professional development. The first semester includes mathematics, a humanities or social science elective, an introduction to the profession, a computer science elective, and GLS 180. The second semester continues with mathematics, another humanities or social science elective, chemistry or natural science electives, and either a second-semester introductory professional course, physics, or an additional humanities/social science elective.
