The MArts Religion and Theology with Study Abroad at the University of Bristol offers you a unique opportunity to explore the diverse global tapestry of religious beliefs, practices, and their complex interactions across history and modernity. This undergraduate degree is designed for intellectually curious students who seek to understand the profound influence of religions like Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism on societies worldwide. You will develop critical analytical skills to navigate nuanced cultural and societal dynamics, preparing you for a world that increasingly values cross-cultural understanding and informed dialogue on global issues.
This full-time, four-year on-campus program begins with a foundational year in approaches to world religions, followed by a second year where you shape your studies through optional units focusing on Western and Asian religious traditions. Your third year provides an invaluable global perspective as you study abroad at one of our partner institutions. In your final year, you will undertake a significant dissertation, working closely with a supervisor to research a topic of your choice, and will graduate with enhanced research, analytical, and intercultural communication skills, opening doors to careers in diplomacy, education, journalism, and international relations.
